Course Objectives 1. Explain past events in detail and evaluate them.
2. Use prepositions and construct simple subordinate clauses.
3. Express ideas clearly and at an appropriate pace, and understand the topics of conversation.
4. Explain and understand biographies.
5. Deliver oral presentations to the class.
6. Summarize a book.
Course Description It includes the teaching of intermediate-level Spanish grammar and vocabulary, as well as preparatory work for the A2 level of the DELE exams, organized within the framework of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Course Outcomes 1. Speak about past events by combining the three most important past tenses in Spanish.
2. Use simple conjunctions such as porque (because), aunque (although), incluso (even), como (as), and mientras (while), and build simple subordinate clauses.
3. Talk about the qualities of their profession.
4. Describe their homes in the past and present, and compare life in the town and in the city.
5. Use direct and indirect object pronouns.
6. Engage in dialogues in a restaurant and a supermarket.
7. Write a postcard explaining what they have done and what their plans are.
Pre-requisite(s) Completion of course 102 or level A2.1 is required. Alternatively, students may be admitted with the coordinator’s approval after passing a placement test administered on the first day of the course, either before or during the drop/add week.
