Course Objectives
I.to help students raise an interest in literature and to show students the connection and interrelation of literary works with the scientific thought, philosophical outlook and the economic approaches of the moment they are written
II. to improve students’ note-taking skills
III. to make literary criticism
Course Description
This course focuses on the written and verbal analyses of 12 short stories selected from World Literature. The analyses are based on the dramatic structure and the historical context of each story, which intend to prove the indisputable connection and interrelation of each story with the scientific thought, philosophical outlook, and the economic approaches of the particular historical moment it is written.
Course Outcomes
Students who pass the course will be able to
I. to understand literary works,
II. to enhance their vision of the changing world through analyses of a variety of short stories
III. to see the connection and interrelation of literary works with the scientific thought, philosophical outlook and economic approaches of the moment they are written,
IV. to improve note-taking skills, and
V. to make literary criticism
