Course Objectives To enable the students to communicate effectively as an engineer
To engage the students with the basic communication skills they will employ in the professional engineering workplace
Course Description This course is designed to help students master technical communication skills and genres of writing relevant to engineering, with a focus on technical and professional documents, workplace correspondence, instructions and oral presentations.
Course Outcomes The students who complete the course successfully will be able to:
1. communicate in both verbal and written means in professional settings
2. produce technical engineering documents using tools commonly employedby engineering professionals
3. prepare and deliver oral presentations on technical subjects using presentation software
4. interpret and incorporate graphs and charts into engineering documents
5. be aware of the ethical and professional code of conduct at the workplace
