JDM 502E - Yüzey Süreçleri
Dersin Amaçları
The aim of this course
1. is to provide graduate-level understanding of the fundamental geomorphological processes shaping the Earth’s surface (fluvial, hillslope, glacial, aeolian, karst, coastal and anthropogenic processes),
2. to explain their interactions with climate, tectonics, and human activities.
3. In addition, the course aims to develop students’ research and application skills through the use of modern observation, measurement, and analytical techniques.
Dersin Tanımı
This course provides an advanced understanding of the processes that shape the Earth’s surface, focusing on the interactions between climate, hydrology, geology, and human activities. It covers fluvial, hillslope, glacial, aeolian, coastal, karst, and anthropogenic processes, emphasizing the spatial and temporal scales at which they operate. Modern methods such as field mapping, geodetic measurements, remote sensing, GIS, and geochronological techniques (cosmogenic nuclides, OSL, radiocarbon) are introduced. The course highlights the role of surface processes in landscape evolution, natural hazards, and sustainable land management.
