Dersin Amaçları 1 Bir bilimsel alan olan morfolojinin orijini, gelişimi, amacı, kavramı ve teknikleri
2 Bu alandaki kaynakların kullanılması ve veri tabanının oluşturulması
3 Şehir Peyzajının değişimini ve kontrolünü açıklayan "kent planı, bina biçimi ve arazi ve bina kullanımları" gibi ana kavramların açıklanarak öğrencilerin bilgilendirilmesidir.
Dersin Tanımı Kent Morfolojisi tanımı, Kuramsal açıklamalar, kent morfolojisi okulları ve karşılaştırmalı yaklaşımları, şehir biçimlerinin tarihsel süreçte evrimleri, kenti oluşturan elemanlar, kente form veren özellikler, yerleşmeler ve kentsel büyüme, morfolojik analiz yöntemleri, mekânsal metodlar, seçilmiş bir örneklem yerleşme alanında analiz ve uygulama
Dersin Çıktıları Bu dersi başarıyla tamamlayan yüksek lisans öğrencileri aşağıdaki bilgi, beceri ve yetkinliklerini kazanırlar ;
1. İnsan çevre etkileşimini kent dokusu örneğinde kavrayabilmek,
2. Alanın ilişkili olduğu disiplinlerarası etkileşimi kavrayabilmek,
3. Kent dokusu elemanları ve tasarım ilkelerini anlamak
4. Çalışma alanına ilişkin eleştirel analiz, sentez ve değerlendirme yapabilmek
5. Yerleşmelerin gelişim dokularını, öğrenme, analiz etme, yorumlama ve takdim etme yeteneklerini geliştirme
