Dersin Amaçları
The course aims to give a general understanding of nonlinear dynamics and chaos.
The theory of nonlinear dynamics will be covered systematically starting from first order systems, with
their fixed points and bifurcations. The second part will focus on second order systems, phase plane
analysis, limit cycles and their bifurcations. Finally the origin of unpredictability will be explored with
the Lorentz equations, chaos, iterated maps, period doubling, fractals and strange attractors.
