Dersin Adı Türkçe Statik İngilizce Statics Dersin Kodu STA 201E Kredi Ders (saat/hafta) Uygulama (saat/hafta) Labratuvar (saat/hafta) Dönem 2 3 3 - - Dersin Dili İngilizce Dersin Koordinatörü Bayram Çelik Dersin Amaçları The primary purpose of this course is to introduce engineering students to the balance of forces on bodies in equilibrium state(i.e., at rest or in uniform motion). At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to o determine reaction forces at supports and be prepared to evaluate internal forces as required to determinestress and strain distributions in MUK203; o apply the problem solving skills developed in this class (e.g. evaluation of friction forces, vector descriptionsof forces) in the study of structures, solid body dynamics (DNK201), and fluid mechanics (AKM204E). Dersin Tanımı Principles of mechanics, Vectors and vector algebra, Force systems, Equilibrium of particles, Equilibrium of rigid bodies, Friction, Center of gravity, Distributed forces acting on beams and submerged surfaces, Shear force, bending moment diagrams, Cables and chains, The method of virtual work, Potential energy and equilibrium, the stability of equilibrium. Dersin Çıktıları On completing this course the students should : (2 dimensional and/or 3 dimensional) • be able to compute the components of force(s) (a3)* • be able to compute the resultant force adding forces (or force components) (a3)* • be able to compute the projection of one vector onto another (a3)* • be able to compute the moments of the forces to include the model (a3)* • be able to formulate the equilibrium problems of a particle and obtain the solution (a3,c1,e3,i1,k1)* • be able to define and introduce support reactions (a3,e3)* • be able to define Certain/Uncertain due to supporting (a3,e3)* • be able to formulate the equilibrium problems of a rigit body and obtain the solution (a3,c1,e3,h1,i1,k1)* • be able to calculate the center of volume/gravity by integration or using tables (a3,e3)* • be able to compute the forces on the members of frames using the method of Joints (a3,e3)* • be able to compute the forces on the members of frames using the method of sections (a3,e3)* • be able to compute and draw shear force and moments variation along supports (a3,c1,e3)* • be able to compute the forces on the machines composed of pin-connected members (a3,e3)* • be able to analyze the forces and study the geometry of cables supporting a load. (a3,e3)* • be able to introduce the concept of dry friction. (a3,e3,h1,i1,j1)* • be able to compute calculate the area moments of inertia by integration or using tables (a3,e3)* • be able to compute calculate the mass moments of inertia by integration or using tables (a3,e3)* • be able to introduce the principle of virtual work (a3,e3)* Önkoşullar Yok Gereken Olanaklar Diğer DD min is 35/100, and the required values for the curve, mean and standart deviation, will be calculated using grades over 35.
