Dersin Amaçları		In this course, students will delve into the captivating world of Earth's geological past as unveiled through the fossil record. Throughout the program, students will closely investigate the tangible remnants of ancient life forms and the imprints of their behaviors, all of which have left an indelible mark within the geological archives.
Dersin Tanımı		Bu derste, fosil organizmaların yaşları, çevreleri, evrimleri, kökenleri, biyolojileri, davranışları ve yok oluşları dahil olmak üzere çeşitli yönlerini araştırmak için bilim adamlarının kullandığı metodolojileri göreceğiz. Araştırmamız boyunca birçok kapsayıcı tema ele alınacaktır: 1. Hem jeolojik hem de evrimsel zamanın muazzam ölçeklerinde yol alacağız ve Dünya tarihini şekillendiren şaşırtıcı dönemleri anlayacağız. 2. Yolculuğumuz, Biyolojik evrimin inceliklerini kapsayacak, Hayat Ağacı'ndaki farklı dalların kökenlerini, evrimsel yörüngelerini, çeşitlenmesini ve ara sıra yok oluşlarını derinlemesine inceleyecek.
Dersin Çıktıları		By the conclusion of the semester, all students are expected to achieve the following competencies: 1. Proficiently identify major categories of organisms that undergo fossilization based on physical samples. 2. Demonstrate the ability to interpret common paleontological representations such as biostratigraphic range charts, phylogenies, cladograms, diversity analyses, and related graphical data. 3. Develop the capacity to critically assess and analyze paleontological studies found in technical literature, enabling a deeper understanding of the methodologies and findings within the field.
