Dersin Amaçları		General Geology provides a view of the Earth as a system and its interactions at the surface. The Earth is introduced from its deep interior to its oceanic, surficial, and atmospheric components to develop a modern scientific understanding of Earth. Within this context, this course focuses on both internal and external processes on the Earth.
Dersin Tanımı		Internal Earth processes within the Solid Earth System, such as those that cause earthquakes, volcanoes, mountains from the perspective of plate tectonics, and Surface Earth processes which are active in oceans and coastlines, rivers. Topics covered include: •The Solid Earth System component integrated with Plate tectonics: origin and development of continents, ocean basins, mountain systems on land and sea, earthquakes, volcanoes, forming mineral and rocks. •The Earth and its surface processes: hypsometry of the Earth, rock and hydrological cycles, weathering, erosion, transportation and deposition of sediment.
