Course Objectives
This course aims,
1. to investigate ceramic phenomenon, concept of form and industrial ceramic methods,
2. to let the students discover and develop their skills about ceramic art,
3. to gain information about different eras and styles in the history of ceramic art.
Course Description
Investigation of ceramic art's importance in art history and explanation of its historical
development; examination of ceramic art through production centres, artists and samples. The
formation and change of ceramic art phenomenon and ceramic art materials within history
Course Outcomes
Students who pass the course will be able to,
I. recognize various kinds of ceramic productions and shaping methods,
II. explain historical development of ceramic art in periods,
III. achieve a high level artistic and esthetical sensibility that they can make use of in the process
of professional creativity and design,
IV. gain an aesthetic perspective over the ceramic artworks and decorative elements,
V. recognize the museums and get acquainted with the exhibited artworks,
VI. gain the skills to identify fundamental eras, styles and artists in the history of ceramic art.
