Course Description Anthropogenic climate change represents one of the most important environmental challenges of our time. In order to understand its environmental, economic, and societal implications, one should have adequate knowledge about the basic underlying science. This course aims to first teach the fundamental scientific principles behind climate change, which involve subjects of atmospheric science and climatology, as well as some aspects of the physical and biological sciences. After a firm grounding in the basic science is established, other issues involving climate change impacts and the issue of mitigation (solutions to dealing with the challenges presented by climate change) are explored.
