Course Objectives To give historical and general information about the avionic systems with the information about fundamental sensing technology and modern sensors are aimed.
Course Description In this course, historical evolution of avionics, electrical power systems, radio wave based communication, localization and sensing systems, radars, satellite navigation systems, magnetic and inertial sensing technology, air data sensors, altitude sensors, sensor fusion and state estimation, avionic architectures, buses, computation units, cockpit equipments, avionic standards and certifications are taught.
Course Outcomes -
Pre-requisite(s) To pass FIZ 102E, FIZ 102, FIZ 106 or FIZ 106E with at least DD.
Required Facilities In order to make the project, a portable computer (laptop or battery powered single board computer) with Arduino IDE, an Arduino board, an IMU module, and a GNSS receiver with proper antenna are required. These devices except the computer will be given to the students by the instructor.
