This lecture aims to introduce students to the fundamentals of geography as well as to provide discussions on contemporary challenges the globe is facing. Students will investigate natural environment and its different formations as well as human’s relationship with their surroundings and discuss the ways in which people have shaped the nature and vice versa. Physical and human geography, the two main piers of geography, and their sub-divisions will set the framework of the course parallel to the advancements in related disciplines. In this sense, the course is interdisciplinary, combining methods and theory produced by different sub-branches of geography.
