Course Objectives 1. To introduce the design parameters acting on energy conservation in buildings,
2. To explain the importance of energy conservation and rational use of energy resources
3. To teach traditional and contemporary energy efficient methods and alternative energy sources
4. To give information about the energy consumption optimization
5. To give the skill of practice on how to design an energy efficient building
Course Description Energy consumption in buildings, design parameters affecting energy consumption in building; alternative energy sources, climate responsive buildings, evaluation of building performance with a building simulation software
Course Outcomes 1. To be conscious on energy conservation in buildings
2. To know the path to be followed in designing an energy efficient building
3. To be able to develop new proposal to provide energy conservation in building design process
4. Evaluation of energy efficiency of new proposals
