Course Objectives 1. Understanding the nature and purpose of Land Use Planning
2. Understand the principles of land use decision making and growth control and management

5. To be able to read and comment on the land use map with the field work, to understand the current land use situation of the area in question, to create a scenario about the future land use structure in line with the needs and factors
Course Description Land use planning is considered a key tool for local governments in planning and designing natural, artificial and socio-economic environments according to needs. With this aspect, it has direct effects on society. Urban planners and designers have duties to reflect all changes and developments related to environmental systems, political and economic forces to land use planning. Planners and designers seek solutions by using their knowledge, technical and political skills, problem solving and creativity skills in the process of forming a common vision for future land use or city plan. This course is designed to provide an introduction to land use planning with a focus on a small residential area. Gain experience in collecting and analyzing data and information on the key components of land use plans.
