MIM 372 - Utilization of Concrete Technology in Architecture

Course Objectives

1. To provide the properties of the concrete and the concrete technology related to the durability.
2. To provide new types of the concrete and new materials.
3. To provide the problems of the advanced concrete and the special concrete and production techniques for the solution of these problems.

Course Description

The components (cement, aggregate) and the properties of the concrete (the compressive strength, shrinkage) are informed generally. The production techniques of the concrete and quality control calculation are explained. The admixtures are informed shortly. The different conditions of the casting of the concrete and the types of the concrete (The Ready-mix concrete, Architectural Concrete, Fiber Concrete, Self-Leveling Concrete) and their properties are introduced. The damages of the concrete and the solutions are explained in details.
