Course Objectives In the context of landscape design, planning, and management, Landscape Design 3 Project, which is given to 6th-semester students in ITU Faculty of Architecture, Department of Landscape Architecture examines the open spaces which have got not only mass sizes but also strategic importance within the urban open space system.
Since the student productions are intended to have a fiction starting from the city scale to the district, neighborhood and local scale, the theme and the area of ??the studio are defined in cooperation with a different local government unit each year. In the studio; it is aimed to produce resilient landscapes based on the keywords of extreme topographies, vulnerable in terms of environmental dynamics, multiscale, multifunctional, landscape character, and green infrastructure.
Benefiting from the seminars, technical field trips, and discussion environments of a multidisciplinary setting, students conduct a single but a comprehensive project, individually.
The student studies that are standing on the frame approach of risk-sensitive landscape architecture are evaluated by four mid-juries and two sketch exams, through the semester.
At the end of the studio studies, students gain the ability to produce projects that have a robust conceptual and physical infrastructure, well experienced from the upper scale of the urban landscape management, to the detailed scale of structural and planting design problems and therefore have the applicability.
Course Description Solution of problems concerning the design of large ? sized urban areas with recreational purpose, bound to decisions of planning, especially according to the designing of urban recreation areas, as well as an approach to design work by the designer regarding equipment and its supply.
