Course Objectives 1.To define the role, functions, authority and the liabilities of architect in production process;
2.To present the concepts and rules of management and economics;
3.To inform the students about the management-related and economic problems at all levels of construction industry (national, firm, project and process);
4.To teach management, economic analysis and time management techniques of the design and construction management;
5.To increase their skills in professional practice, to present legal framework of professional practice.
Course Description The importance of the construction sector, its position in Turkey’s economy; country, sector, company, project level administrative and economic decisions, their effects taken during building production process; participants of the building production process; project life cycle are introduced. In addition to the roles, responsibilities of architect, as the coordinator of building production process, in different project delivery methods, construction contract types; knowledge, skills that architect should have in design management, cost management, time management in different stages of the process are described. Practical studies are made with the help of various tools and techniques.
