Course Objectives 1. to gain awareness on the state-of-arts of the parametric design and fabrication methods
2. to achieve better understanding of close relationship between CAD and CAM processes
3. to gain knowledge about integration of different media, tool and workflow in digital fabrication processes.
4. to develop new and creative solutions for design and fabrication processes in terms of material, form, structure, mechanism and algorithm.
Course Description Introduction to the computer aided manufacturing (CAM) tools and methods, use of 2D and 3D Scanning techniques, use of additive and subtractive manufacturing methods for representation, introduction to robotic fabrication techniques, transformation and production of design models, form finding approaches through analog and computational models, developing customized tools for representation and fabrication of complex 3B geometry.
