Course Objectives 1.To teach how designs can be manufactured.
2.To explain the properties of different manufacturing methods.
3.To teach the relation between material, form and manufacturing method.
4.To teach the selection of the material and manufacturing method for products.
Course Description Principles and Classification of Manufacturing Methods; Comparison, Advantages and Limits of Manufacturing Methods. Design-Manufacturing Relation; Selection of Appropriate Manufacturing Method.
Course Outcomes Students, who passed the course satisfactorily have an understanding of:
1. The manufacturing methods and their properties.
2. The manufacturing methods which are used to shape industrial designs.
3. The relation between manufacturing methods and other design factors.
