Course Objectives IDefinition of main components in a settlement and discussion of future
development by the utilization of methods and techniques for the analysis,
evaluation, decision making in strategic spatial planning approach.
Course Description Based on strategic spatial planning approach; 1. Identification of spatial dynamics in a settlement: settlement systems and hierarchy, transportation network and connections, land uses, social, economic and environmental characteristics. 2. Determination of cross-sectoral relationships and spatial impact; defining the techniques and problems representing social, environmental and economic structure. 3. Discussion of vision: Utilization of strategic decision making methods with the consideration of social, organizational bodies and legal framework.
Course Outcomes Analyzing the natural-built and socio-economic environment, evaluation
of strengths, weaknesses, opportunity, threats, external trends, forces
and the resources available,

? The development of a (realistic) long-term vision,
? The development of concept and decision framework in order manage
spatial change
