Course Objectives
The aim of this lesson is to take the conceptual basis of urban and regional planning, urban planning process and its phases.
Course Description
The conceptual basis of urban and regional planning. Concepts of environment, human settlements, and town planning; basic information about human settlements presented in the order of village, town, metropolis, megalopolis, new town and urban functions. Definition of urban planning and team work concept. Conceptual explanation of planning as a general system, urban planning process and its phases. Concept of ethics. Essential principles of ethics. Urban planning and Professional Ethics. Sustainable urban development.
Course Outcomes
Students who pass the course will be able to:
1. Learn the basic information about environment, human settlements, and town planning.
2. Comprehend the conceptual explanation of planning as a general system,
3. Learn urban planning process and its phases.
4. Understand sustainable urban development.
5. Recognize the morals of consciousness on social and environmental liability and professional ethics
