Course Objectives
1. To provide an understanding of basic concepts and methods about the process and stages of space organization.
2. To teach the roles, responsibilities and contributions of design and designer in the space organization process.
Course Description
Definition of space organization. Space allocations: Interactions of space and existing conditions. Relationships to surrounding areas, size of space, views, special features, structural considerations. Infrastructure - superstructure relations. Organization concepts, circulation patterns, legal restrictions. User - Space Interaction: Human Factors. Human comfort, psychological and social influences. User - Product - Space Interface: Materials, finishes, colors, textures, lighting and accessories
