Course Objectives
1. Sketch modeling as a designing tool.
2. Developing structure building; to learn to establish the link between 2-D and 3-D. To be able to transfer a complex form from 3-D to 2-D and vice versa 3.To use various modelmaking materials together successfully.
4.Creating realistic looking shapes and textures
Course Description
Shaping of styropor and polyurethane. Shaping of a non-geometrical form. Sectioning from the plan, grid shaping with cardboard and filling with polyurethane. Sanding the object, applying putty, finishing of the surface. Kinds of paints and painting techniques. Brush painting. Description of the compressor and airbrush, masking techniques. Undercoating, painting and varnishing with airbrush. Moulding techniques: Vacuum forming, plaster moulding, GRP moulding, taking mould from the model, taking product from the mould.
Course Outcomes
Student, who passed the course satisfactorily can:
1. Interpret and learn how various materials are used together,
2. Correlate between 3-D and 2-D; they can figure out how an organic shape is scanned and converted to 2-D,
3. Learn and perform processing of various modelling materials,
4. Create desired textured surfaces smoothly,
5. Apply smooth paintwork.
