Course Objectives 1. To establish a disciplinary view point about global problems
2. Question the role of the manufacturing industry in environmental problems and generate solutions
3. To learn the relation between society and design
4. The gain detailed knowledge about socio-technical concepts
Course Description definitions: sustainability - green d./eco (environmental) design / sustainable design,
globalization, critical&speculative design, sustainable fashion, design for environmental,
circularity: circular economy - circularity concept, products that last, change by design,
design with intent , behaviour change by design, behavior changing designs for sustainability,
growth and waste, system thinking, system innovation
Course Outcomes Student who complete this course satisfactorily can,
1. Can have a deeper and holistic understanding of the concept of sustainability
2. Can shape their disciplinary practice and viewpoints in the context of global problems
3. Can have a professional consciousness in order to reduce environmental problems
4. Have a detailed understanding and view point of both systems thinking and design-based approaches
