Course Objectives
To build knowledge and criticism capacity about handicrafts through concepts such as tradition, handmade, authenticity, material culture and tradition.
Course Description
Examination of different traditional handicrafts (textile / carpet / wood / metal / ceramic / calligraphy / marbling) within the framework of the triangle of production, consumption and circulation/consumption.
Course Outcomes
The student who successfully completes this course:
- recognizes the ontological characteristics of traditional handicrafts,
- can evaluate the relationships between material and form, form and function, function and decoration, and decoration and form in traditional products within production, aesthetic and technical frameworks.
