Course Objectives Multi-dimensional design problems and spatial solutions in the urban context,
? Discussing the social and cultural layers of architecture, design with the issues of place, context, program, space, identity, representation,
? Addressing architecture in relation to advanced construction and production technologies,
? Using digital design methods and tools in the design process,
? Developing the ability to master multi-dimensional representation environments.
Course Description The studio aims to explore the theme of "topophilia" by focusing on the emotional and cultural bonds that individuals and communities establish with certain places. To this end, through the lens of urban articulation and architectural design, how physical environments - specifically a university campus - foster a sense of belonging and attachment in its dynamic environment will be examined. Our primary research area will be the Kırklareli University campus, which offers potential for exploring the interaction between the natural landscape and the built environment. In this process, students are expected to critically engage with the themes of sustainability, community and innovation, and produce design proposals that address the complex, layered realities of space and establish an emotional and functional connection with the space.
Course Outcomes Advanced architectural design and critical thinking skills, Ability to coordinate individually and in groups,
2. Ability to conduct research and think critically about location, urban context, and program,
3. Ability to research and decide on alternative energy and building technology opportunities appropriate for the design,
4. Ability to read design decisions through examples,
5. Ability to express and present the developed architectural design through drawings using appropriate scale and representation tools.
