MIM 312E - Architectural Design VI

Course Objectives

One of the main objectives of the course is to develop appropriate design strategies in the process of researching solutions to complex design problems and to select/adapt design tools that will provide solutions. Other objectives of the course describe the acquisition of highly complex programmatic design solutions expected to be developed in a dynamic urban context and the presentation of their conceptual/physical/spatial features as multi-media representations.

Course Description

Developing and implementing data collection, analysis and program development processes that are appropriate to the nature of the design problem and reflect the designer's personal interests and skills; Discussing and customizing the issues of place, program, space, identity and representation that determine design within the framework of a complex design situation; Developing the ability to master the components of architecture such as structure, building systems, and detail development throughout all processes of design; Controlling the ability to generate solutions in complex urban fabric.
