Course Objectives
Objectives:
•To contribute to the development of new social spaces in Istanbul and to strengthen its cultural infrastructure. •To address urban communication within the context of locality and in line with the specific needs of place. •To explore the dynamics of place. •To integrate the components of the “city” into design processes, positioning it as a space of sharing and transmission.

Tracing the Local:
Urban Layers
*The City as a Space of Sharing
This studio aims to explore the design of multifunctional collective centers grounded in the local textures and communities of various districts of Istanbul. The project seeks to develop flexible, interactive, and collectively oriented centers, including spaces such as conference halls, offices, exhibition areas, and temporary accommodations, while addressing the needs of different communities, user profiles, and the urban character specific to each project site.
