Course Objectives To understand sociological theory and social-urban change. To develop opinions and suggestions for socioeconomic and spatial development. To understand the relationship between theory and practice, and to gain knowledge of research development.
Course Description The scope of the course includes topics such as the definition of sociology, its scope and sociological theories, social change in historical context, the emergence of urban sociology, urban theories, social research methods and examples, urban studies, urban transformation, and fundamental change periods and dynamics, especially in Türkiye.
Course Outcomes Developing a sociological approach
Analyzing the dynamics of social change and establishing cause-effect relationships
Establishing a balance between theory and practice
Developing social and urban development proposals
