Course Objectives		1 - To give background information about Gis 2 - To introduce state of the art and up to DatE Gis technologies 3 - To show different Gis applications with regards to urban and rural planning
Course Description		Introduction to GIS. Graphic and non graphic data. Definition of GIS, its evolution and applications and related technology. Geographic database. Data analysis and designing a project. GIS software and hardware. Remote sensing and image processing, GIS applications.
Course Outcomes		1 - Ability to use different data of different disciplines 2 - Ability to define problems and to synthesize in the light of relevant data during a planning process 3 - Ability to use technology and computers during data collection and evaluation steps of planning activities 4 - Ability to develop graphical expression 5 - Ability to comprehend the sustainability of the natural resources, public values and cultural heritage 6 - Ability to develop written and verbal communication skills in a foreign language
