Course Objectives 1. Within the context of “western culture” give an outline on history of architecture and landscape,
2. To provide the concept of style.
Course Description Within the context of “western culture” architecture and landscape from Prehistoric period to Ancient Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Mannerism, Baroque, Rococo, Enlightenment, Industrial Revolution, Historicism, Modern and Post Modern periods. Relations between periods, influence and continuity.
Course Outcomes Students who pass the course will be able to:

I. Promote critical thinking on History of Landscape Architecture,
II. Recognize historical and cultural differences,
III. Synthesize data from reading of books and essays related to history of landscape architecture,
IV. Identify historical and cultural influences on garden art from architectural styles in the context of western culture.
