Course Objectives

It is expected from the students to internalize the theoretical information given throughout the lectures, to complete the useful studies, to participate the studio studies, and to be successful in the mid-term and final exams.
The aims of the course are;
• To become aware of the basic knowledge about the building construction,
• To have an opinion about the integration of these knowledge into architectural design process,
• To exercise about the expression of these knowledge with architectural representation techniques.

Course Description

Introduction to Building Construction course aims to make students become aware of the sub-systems, elements and components of the buildings with their surroundings. The main subject area of the course is the Building Element Systems which is one of the sub-systems of the buildings.
