Course Objectives 1. To provide an understanding of basic concepts and methods about the process and stages of
space organization.
2. To teach the roles, responsibilities and contributions of design and designer in the space organization process.
Course Description Definition of space organization. Space Allocations: Interaction of space and existing conditions. Relationships to surrounding areas, size of space, views, special features, structural considerations.
Infrastructure - superstructure relations. Organization concepts, circulation patterns, legal restrictions.
User - Space Interaction: Human Factors. Human comfort, psychological and social influences.
User - Product - Space Interface: Materials, finishes, colors, textures, lighting, and accessories. Maintenance.
Course Outcomes Student, who passed the course satisfactorily can:
1. Obtain knowledge of basic concepts and methods about the process and stages of space organization.
2. Be able to investigate the effect of changing life styles and trends on space organization.
3. Analyze and gather knowledge of form, material, finishes, colors, textures, lighting, and accessories used in space organization.
4. Be able to suggest innovative approaches in Space-Product-User interface.
5. Acquire and be able to employ the role, responsibility and contribution of design and designer in the space organization process.
