Course Objectives The course objectives are;
1. to understand behavioral sciences,
2. to understand human behaviors
3. to understand society, groups and norms
4. to understand Culture and behavior relationship
Course Description Overview Sociology and Psychology. Sociology is concerned with the relations between
individuals, groups, and institutions as well as the values, rationales, and goals by which their
actions are motivated. The course introduces the main features of psychology in a comprehensive
way by means of tracing out the conditions of emergence and the main currents of psychology.
It analyses human behaviour, different processes of perceptions and emotions within the
context of different socio-historical conditions and individual developments
Course Outcomes Students who complete this course successfully are able to;
1. provide the students basic knowledge about the field of psychology and analyze the
problems of modern societies related to human behaviors and relationships
2. develop the ability to think theoretically and conceptually.
3. develop the ability to communicate and discuss issues effectively.
4. develop the ability to READ and understand texts, make research and write.
5. develop the capacity to locate and evaluate engineering problems in their social contexts.
