Course Objectives 1. To provide basic concepts of hydrology
2. To teach how to derive basic design information for environmental engineering structures by using hydrological methods
Course Description Water cycle, watersheds, precipitation, evaporation, infiltration, groundwater, surface runoff, hydrometry, hydrograph analysis, rational method, flood and drought management, statistical processes in hydrology
Course Outcomes Students who pass the course will be able to:
I. Understand the water cycle
II. Understand how to analyze hydrological and meteorological data
III. Learn the basic concepts related to watersheds and derive water budget
IV. Learn fundamental methods and calculations in hydrology
V. Derive the basic hydrological information for engineering design for urban areas
VI. Have fundamental knowledge about flood and drought management
VII. Use statistical processes in hydrology
