Course Objectives The aim of the course is, using remotely sensed data and methods, utilizing software and hardware, to gain students the investigation of natural earth resources and features. on applications and providing them with detailed information on this topics.
Course Description It covers various special applications of remote sensing to earth resources investigations.
Course Outcomes Students, who complete this course successfully are able to;(CLO)
1. explain the basic concepts of remote sensing and its importance in Geomatics Engineering Discipline.
2. list the application areas of remote sensing.
3. describe the image classification (object/pixel based methods, land use/cover concepts, thematic mapping, post-classification smoothing and accuracy assessment (sample number, sample design, error matrix, Kappa accuracy), apply, analyze, and evaluate.
4. perform a design, an application and an evaluation of a remote sensing project.
5. With remote sensing in environmental matters explain the relationship between GIS (definitions).
6. design project for urbanization , archeology, geology , agriculture, hydrology, forestry , natural disasters and discuss issues such as the integration of remote sensing and GIS , etc. and integrates effectively with issues related projects in the remote sensing component.
