1. To teach main concept about mechanics,
2. To teach resultant forces, forces moment (tork), weight centers,
3. In mechanics systems, to teach shear forces and moments diagrams,
4. To teach basic law of friction and calculate of friction in machines,
5. To teach mechanics equilibrium of systems and connect forces in systems.
Course Description
Introduction to mechanics, definitions, vectors. Forces and forces equilibrium, moment. Reduction theorems. Force systems, center of masses. Guldin’s theorem. Static of a particle. Free and constrained particle. Equilibrium, Static of the solid body. Varignon’s theorem. Balance. Laws of frictions. Determination of reaction. Moment and Forces diagrams.
Course Outcomes
Students who pass the course:
I. Know all of the basic concept on mechanics, SI unit systems and vectors,
II. Educated enough in vectors to be able to use vectors in all mechanics,
III. Using vectors they can calculate moments and resultant forces,
IV. They learn types joint, direction, magnitude of force and direction, magnitudes,
V. Volume and weight center can be calculated finding the weight center of the differential components,
VI. In stable form, depending on the effect of the powers to the vessel ship and body, necessary, precaution are taken,
VII. They can know how effective friction in vessels and how effective in all systems
VIII. Calculating spread load calculation of shear force, reaction forces and this changes,
IX. They can calculate connect forces in systems.
