Course Objectives
1.To give students main and essential topics of foundation engineering
2. Design and construction of foundations from civil engineering point of view
3.To help students understand design and construction methods of foundation structures by solved examples,
Course Description
Essential topics of design of foundations and construction methods based on the Soil Mechanics I course are given to civil engineering Bsc education
Course Outcomes
1. Soil investigations : Aims, methods and evaluation of the results, geotechnical reports ,
2. Design of shallow foundations,
3. Design and construction methods of deep foundations,
4. Analysis and improvement of stability of slopes,
5. Design of earth retaining structures,
6. Deep foundations and design of supporting systems,
7. Ground improvement

Min DD grades on INS 331 or INS 331E
