Course Objectives
Introduction of basic knowledge and principles of behavior, design and analysis of reinforced concrete sections and members.
Course Description
Reinforced concrete members, mechanical properties of concrete and steel, load effects, , behavior of reinforced concrete, mechanics of R/C beam, analysis of R/C beams, analysis of flanged beams, mechanism of bond transfer, development of anchorage and splicing of reinforcement, eccentrically loaded columns, column interaction diagram, bi-axially loaded columns, analysis and design of slender columns, shear design procedures, design for torsion, shear and moment, elastic design assumptions, comparison with ultimate strength method prestressed concrete, general knowledge.
