Course Objectives 1. to give fundamental components of anaerobic treatment technologies
2. to graduate the Environmental Engineering students who has necessary knowledge about anaerobic treatment technologies
3. to gain an ability about continuously self improving in order to contribute to the development and welfare of the nation
4. to gain a professional and ethical responsibility
Course Description The current Status and the Future of Anaerobic Treatment Processes, Evaluation of the Applicability, Basic Principles, Design and Operation; Anaerobic Reactor configurations, Two-phase and Multi-stage Operations. Start-up of Anaerobic Treatment Processes. Full-scale Applications of Anaerobic Treatment Processes
Course Outcomes Students who pass the course will be able to:
I. Learn about the steps of the anaerobic metabolism and biochemical pathways;
II. Learn about the monitoring parameters of the anaerobic treatment systems;
III. Learn about the microbiological methods and perform activity test for the anaerobic systems;
IV. Calculate the kinetic coefficients and model of anaerobic systems;
V. Learn about anaerobic reactor configuration;
VI. Design and operation of anaerobic reactors.
