Course Objectives Introduction of environmental engineering subjects
Course Description Historical development. Units of measurement. Fundamentals of ecology. Ecosystems. Renewable & non-renewable resources: Energy and Minerals. Water resources, pollution and treatment. Air pollution and control. Solid waste minimization and disposal. Minimization, treatment and disposal of hazardous wastes. Noise pollution. Dimensions, present and future of environmental engineering.
Course Outcomes Students who pass this course will be able to
I. Gain knowledge about fundementals of ecology and ecosystems.
II. Gain knowledge about renewable & non-renewable resources (Energy and Minerals).
III. Gain knowledge about water resources, pollution and treatment
IV. Gain knowledge about air pollution and control.
V. Gain knowledge about solid waste minimization and disposal.
VI. Gain knowledge about minimization, treatment and disposal of hazardous wastes.
VII. Gain knowledge about noise pollution.
VIII. Gain knowledge about dimensions, past, present and future of environmental engineering.
