Course Objectives

Course Description
Introduction to traffic engineering. Traffic flow characteristics. Fundamental models of traffic flow. Statistical aspects of traffic flow. Design characteristics of intersections. Signalized intersections. Webster method. Traffic signs and signing.
Course Outcomes
Students completing this course will be able to:
1. Relation between speed-flow and density
2. Basic design of an intersection
3. Basic design of signalization.
