Course Objectives
1. To give an ability to write and read technical drawings
2. To provide the applications of dimensioning, surface finishing symbols and geometrical tolerances on the technical drawings,
3. To give an ability to draw standard machine elements and assembly drawings.
4. To establish an understanding of techniques used in engineering drawings for technical communication ,
Course Description
Drawing instruments, Meanings of Line Types, Lettering, Basic drawing methods, Technical Drawing in Engineering, geometric constructions and drawings, Letters and line styles, Multiview projection, Parallel projection, Sectional views, Dimensioning, Tolerance, Oblique and axonometric (isometric) drawings, Drawing standards, Threads, Fasteners, Surface Finishing Symbols, Standards, Assembly drawings.
Course Outcomes
Students who pass the course will be able to:
I. Create freehand sketching and lettering
II. Give dimensions on the drawings.
III. Draw multiview projections and sectional views,
IV. Draw multiview projections and sectional views of the machine parts.
V. Draw oblique and axonometric (isometric) drawings,
VI. Draw assembly drawings.
