Course Objectives
1-To be able to use the previous knowledge on strength of materials, structural dynamics and RC-I for the desgin of 3D Building type of structures. To learn the constructive rules, code regulations and recommendations.
2 - To provide the concepts for design of reinforced concrete structural systems and members
3 - To provide applications and student projects for given concepts
4 - To give an ability to apply knowledge of reinforced concrete design on engineering problems
Course Description
Theory & Desgin of Slab Systems. Determination of Earthquake Loads & Earthquake Resistant Design. Design of RC Stair Systems. Foundations: Wall Footings; Single Footing; Continuious Footing; Mat Foundations. Retaining Walls
Course Outcomes
1 - Design of reinforced concrete slabs supported by beams, girdered slabs, slabs without beams subjected to vertical loads
2 - Turkish Seismic Design Code and design of reinforced concrete structures according to vertical and lateral loads
3 - Calculation of the internal forces at foundations of masonry and reinforced concrete structures subjected to vertical and lateral loads
4 - Introduction to staircase systems and determination of internal forces at inclined and landing plates and design
5 - Design of retaining walls
