Course Objectives 1. To teach basic concepts of environmental chemistry,
2. To teach basic consepts of analytical chemistry,
3. To provide knowledge on quantitavive analysis,
4. To provide an ability to interpret analysis results.
Course Description Definition and purpose of environmental chemistry. Classification of pollution parameters. Units and concentrations, data processing, error analysis. Analytical chemistry and quantitative analysis. Chemical equilibrium. Volumetric analysis. Gravimetric analysis. Chemical kinetics. Instrumental analysis: Optical methods of analysis.
Course Outcomes Students who pass the course successfully will be able to:
I. Use basic concepts of environmental chemistry,
II. Do applications in analytical chemistry and quantitative analysis,
III. Understand and apply the theoretical principles of volumetric analysis,
IV. Understand and apply the theoretical principles of gravimetric analysis,
V. Understand and apply the theoretical principles of instrumental analysis,
VI. Evaluate analysis results.
