GEO 221E - Num. Meth. for Geomatics Eng.
Course Objectives
The aim of the course is to make the students aware of the problems of the numerical processing, with particular attention to the floating point arithmetic and the computational complexity in the time and the space; some of the basic methods of the scientific computing (numerical solution of linear systems, nonlinear equations, polynomial interpolation and least squares approximation) are implemented by using interactive environments for scientific computing and visualization of the results.
Course Description
This is a basic engineering course includes the usage of numerical methods in geomatics engineering applications, matrix and determinants, linear and nonlinear equation systems, interpolations, linear regression, numerical integration.
