Course Objectives
1. To teach characteristics of construction industry
2. To asist students in developing project management skills
3. To teach regulations about Public Works
Course Description
Construction industry and management of construction projects, types and organization of construction firms, project management organization, pre-bid project management activities, bidding process and contract administration, mobilization and management at site, time management
in construction project management, scheduling methods, CPM method, cost management, cost estimation, quantity take-off, interim payments, important activities during and following construction
Course Outcomes
Students who pass the course will be able to:
I.to gain knowledge in construction industry and construction Project management
II. to gain knowledge in pre-bid Project management activities and to apply it
III. to manage bidding process and to prepare and apply construction contracts
IV. to gain knowledge in mobilization and site management
V. developing schedules for construction projects and to apply them
VI. to manage cost, and to perform necessary activities during and following construction
