INS 4901 - Design & Analysis of a Steel Industrial Process Tower Building

Course Objectives

The aim of this project is to design a stable and economical steel industrial Process Tower buildingsystem considering the vertical and horizontal load flows (path) by using the relevant codes and
regulations and draw the shop drawings.

Course Description

The students are expected to determine structural system, loads and effects on the structure in the view of limit states design philosophy and approaches, loading standards, methods of analysis, interrelationship between analysis and design, flexural members section and ember capacity, compression members section and member capacity, plastic collapse mechanisms.
