GEO 216 - Computer Aided Map Design
Course Objectives
This course aims students to gain professional skills based on Large Scale Map and Map Information Production Regulation (BÖHHBÜY) by using software related to Geomatics Engineering. The professional skills include digital map production from field measurements and cartometric exercises on maps (laying out the orthogonal and polar coordinated points, reading lay-out coordinates manually, scale and area calculation, drawing of the cross-sections and profile, calculation of the slope)
Course Description
This course covers professional applications (laying out the points with orthogonal and polar coordinates, creating contour plan, drawing of cross-sections and profile, on-screen digitization…etc.) in terms of large-scale map and map information design and drawing based on the standards of Large-Scale Map and Map Information Production Regulation (BÖHHBÜY) by using software related to Geomatics Engineering.
